The department of Psychology at the University of West Georgia invites application for three tenure track positions (two at the rank of Assistant Professor and one at the rank of Associate or Assistant Professor) beginning August 2018.
Qualifed applicants will have a PhD in psychology, demonstrated excellence in teaching, and an active research agenda. Successful candidates will teach courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels an engage in departmental and university service activities. Found in 1968 through a shared vision of humanistic psychology, the department supports innovative directions in theory, research, teaching and practice. We offer BS, MA, and PhD degrees; our doctoral program emphasizes “consciousness and society” Our programs incorporate existential, phenomenological, transpersonal, contemplative, critical, sociocultural, feminist, and depth psychologies in dialogue with more traditional schools of psychology. We emphasize a human science appraoch to research methods, clinical and community proxies, ecopsychology, social justice, consciousness studies, parapsychology, human potentiality, and spirituality.
